About

Seven years in, still obsessed with
why one page outranks another.

I'm Maren Cole — an independent SEO and growth strategist working with small e‑commerce and service businesses who are tired of guessing.

The short version

I started in an in‑house marketing team, moved to an agency, and left both to work directly with founders — because the best SEO work happens close to the product, not three approval layers away from it.

Today I run a small, focused practice: search strategy, content, social management and product media for brands that sell online. No junior account managers, no reporting decks nobody reads. You work with me, directly, every week.

How I work

Research first. Opinions second.

01

Audit before advice

Every engagement opens with a full technical, content and competitor audit. I don't recommend a strategy until I can show you the data behind it.

02

One roadmap, ranked by impact

Findings get sorted by effort vs. traffic potential, not by what's easiest to bill. You always know what I'm doing this week and why.

03

Built to be measured

Rankings, traffic, and conversion are tracked from day one, so growth is a number we both watch, not a story I tell you at the end of the month.

04

Plain-language reporting

Monthly reports written for a founder, not for another marketer — what moved, why, and what happens next.

Approach

Expertise, in three areas

Technical & on‑page SEO

Site architecture, page speed, structured data, and keyword‑mapped content that search engines can actually parse.

Content & language models

Writing tuned for both readers and the NLP systems modern search engines use to judge relevance and entity strength.

Social & visual growth

Turning search demand into a content calendar across Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook — with product media that stops the scroll.

Let's see if it's a fit.

A short call, no pressure — I'll tell you honestly if I think I can move the needle.
